Okay just to give a quick update. I purchased nothing! Hooray to that. I came out unscathed from the sale storm. Ha! And the reason why I did not buy anything was because my nappy of choice (Pampers Aircon Pants) was SOLD OUT. Sad…but happy…then dang. Oh well, it’s my weekly grocery run anyways so I’m covered. Never felt so liberating not purchasing anything… I'm good...I'm.  Good.

Oh, yes. I bet most people’s noses are buried on their screens right looking out for the best deals in most if not all shopping sites like  Lazada  or  Shopee . We’ll COUNT ME IN! Yall I’m not gonna miss this almost every month sale event. because..because it also means…nappy SALE! Lol! Diaper pants is on top, the only top item in my cart. Some great deals they got for all the mommies out there. Decisions..decisions…Pampers or Huggies? Pricey and cute or cheaper but boring (design). Just how successful advertising is not only in generating sales but almost controlling the people’s mind, even stimulating decision fatigue. Whew. It does take a lot of mind control to those those impulses. Aaargh! Lemme just pour out my feelings through this blog. Do some stretching perhaps. Ill come back to what looks like an empty cart – for now.

It's my birthday

It's 5:33 in the morning. Nothing like waking up on your birthday morning! Yaas, it is my time to shine this pandemic period and what a reason to celebrate! There's so many reasons to be specially grateful. Last night I had my early birthday cake candle-blowing ceremony with my loves. Hubby and his accomplice (he now has one, I didn't realize that) my first born, Una gave me this little surprise. Aww...sweetest! You got it. I'm forty-one. Embracing every moment of it. Thank you, God, for choosing to give me a full forty-one years of life. I have nothing to ask for except long years spent with the gifts you've blessed me, my loving husband and my two beautiful kids Una and Dua. You have beautifully written my life as planned and beyond blessed to be a testimony of how grand You are and of how great Your love is. Thank you, my Savior, Jesus Christ. Now, I'm going to get my fresh cup of Hazelnut brewed coffee...and cozy up wit...

Hello October

My favorite month. Finally on my two-day leave from work...to laze around and ha blog! I am back! Journaling is always both an art and therapy. My appreciation with literary – the reading and writing part- is I think part of who I am. I grew up with my grandmother and aunties’ bookshelves of fiction novels and self-helps and so I would sneak and pull a paperback not sure if I understood all the words written but just kept going. Until I fell in love with it. Expressing my self through words is almost second nature. How I lovingly elaborate my feelings through weave of words in my little diary at the age of 10. It’s therapeutic and relaxing. It’s beautiful and bold at the same time lingering and lasting. There is something about October that’s warm and inviting and so I hope, truly hope to write as long as I can. Can you feel the cool breeze yet? Ahhh...the ‘ber’ months.

Pandemic Baking | Softest, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

I'm a sucker for anything chocolate chip cookies but nothing like the ones made at home.  Not even the popular, imported brands can capture the decadence of a home-made, freshly baked cookies.  I still get that 'commercialized' after taste whenever I eat the supermarket brand.  I still eat em anyway though.  Now, after multiple attempts of recreating and pursuing the best chocolate chip cookie, I am finally resolved with this recipe.  I slightly modified it from different baker bloggers AND surprisingly this came out to be the easiest one to make. Soft and Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies Ingredients: 1/2 cup butter, melted (liquid consistency) 3/4 cup brown sugar 1/8-1/4 cup granulated sugar 2 tablespoons honey (ting! secret's out) 1 egg 2 cups all purpose flour 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 1/4 fine salt 2 teaspoons vanilla 3/4 cup chocolate chips Procedure 1. In a bowl, cream melted butter, brown and white sugar, until dissolved. 2. Add hone...

Fast track

Hey how's everyone holding up?  I hope you are all well and safe and healthy. Consider this my redemption blog and yes, you can all point this out as a result of being quarantined at the moment and also because I just miss writing. I really do. Ok, so fast track six years after.  I am now 40 years old and had to edit my description from a mama of one to now a mama of two!  Two beautiful babies (I still call my eldest daughter baby.  She's 10).  I am still tied up as a working mama and enjoying every bit of it. About a month and a half ago, our government placed our country to Enhanced Community Quarantine as a measure to mitigate the spread of a deadly virus called the Coronavirus.  Not sure why people coined Corona and virus as one word but, yes, it's a big one and currently blowing up the entire world's economy, obviously mortality and social dependency.  Wearing of mask is mandatory and 2-meter social distancing is imposed whenever one goes ou...

Am sick

I ditched work yesterday. I was down with a nasty flu and a terrible sore throat.  Body cramps, I can get away with that but a swollen throat is worst.  Swallowing was so hard, I cried every time I take my fluids. 😢 But fluids saved me. I am now more careful when taking medications so whenever I feel weird physically, I drink water. Liters and liters of water and it worked.  I just slept over it and am now up on my feet. Hydration is important! Now my head is spinning thinking of my missed deadlines. Tsk.
